In this article, I’m going to tell you about how to change the default wallpaper in the lock-in screen of Windows 10 and use a single color instead.
There are essentially two ways to go about this job, the first one being relatively easier than the second one.
First Method
#1 – The first method consists of adding a tweak to your registry.
#2 – Download the following file which consists of two files. When activated, the first one help you disable the Logon background. The second file will help you undo the change and bring the background image back to your lock-screen.
#3 – Download the Files Here: Windows Registry Files
#4 – One you’re done downloading, unzip the folder and click on the first .reg file. A dialog box will appear and prompt you to click on the next button. It’s a pretty straight-forward process.
#5 – Once you’re done tweaking the registry, you can see the background wallpaper from lock-screen has been removed.
However, you want to change the existing color of the background, you will need to make changes in the settings.
#6 – Search the box for settings and click on the personalization and then on the colors option.
# 7 – Disable the toggle under “Automatically pick an accent color from my background” and a box of available colors will appear. Choose whichever color you want to pick for your lock-screen background.

Second Method
The second method is for those who want to do it manually.
#1 – Open the Registry Editor – Press Window Key + R and Type regedit
#2 – A pop-up will appear with a message, “Do you want this app to make changes to your PC?” Click on Yes.
#3 – The Registry Editor Windows will appear where you can edit a specific file to disable to the background image in your lock-screen.
#4 – On the left-hand side panel, Click on the arrow beside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder. Again, click on the Software folder and continue to click until you reach the System folder. Basically, follow the path below.
“HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System”
#5 – Right click on the System folder and create a DWORD value named “DisableLogonBackgroundImage”
#6 – Give it a value “00000001” to set change the default wallpaper in your lock-screen. You can change the value to “00000000” to go back to the default Windows 10 “hero image.”
